CAA and NRC: Complete Discussion
------- Sourav subhakanta dash“The Map of A Country looks as it is shaped by the variety of people of country no matter of what religion or sect”
CAA and NRC are the hottest topics in our country. A large number of
riots public protests are ongoing for this decision of the government. A large
number of arguments are going on whenever I switch to a news channel. Really I
am getting so much irritated on this subject that sometimes I wonder that if
this continues then what will be its impact on the country’s development, its
citizen and students. The students are taking so much interest that they are
forgetting about their future. According to me, politics and studies can never
be done simultaneously because they both are totally different aspects. This is
one of the great reasons for preventing our country to be counted as a
developed one.
Coming
back to the topic lets first understand what is CAA and NRC.CAA nothing but the
citizenship amendment act: According to me is a great decision of the Indian
government with respect to the whole world. Our country: India is setting up an
example for the whole world about the equality of each and every world citizen
may be of any religion or caste. The Muslim contexts and riots are always at
the top of the trending page. The minority Muslims, as well as the non-muslim
minorities in our neighboring countries i.e. Bangladesh, Pakistan, and
Afghanistan, are very much discriminated, tortured and suppressed. These parts
and even people are the parts of our country only. But got separated in the
year 1947. Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru had already decided to give the
legal and beneficial rights to all the religious minorities interlinked with
our country in some way. So continuing the decision Modi Sarkar brought out
this act. The CAB aims to provide Indian citizenship to
non-Muslim minorities who faced religious persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh,
and Afghanistan. Non-Muslim refugees who come to India from
countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan after this bill is converted
into law, it will be easier to get citizenship here. For this, they will have
to spend at least 6 years in India. The scale of granting citizenship earlier
was more than 11 years. The bill was first introduced in the Lok Sabha
in 2016, after which it was handed over to the Parliamentary Committee. Earlier
this year, this bill was passed in the Lok Sabha but was stuck in the Rajya
Sabha. However, with the end of the term of the Lok Sabha, the bill also ended.
But this time the Modi government managed to get it passed by both the Lok
Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
Act, 1955, Every Person Born In India:

Whose Parent Is A Citizen Of India At The Time Of His Birth;
(3) On Or After The Commencement Of The Citizenship
(Amendment) Act, 2003, Where-
(4) Both Of His Parents Are Citizens Of India; Or
(5) One Of Whose Parents Is A Citizen Of India And
The Other Is Not An Illegal Migrant At The Time Of His Birth, Shall Be A
Citizen Of India By Birth.
Being a citizen of India we all should be proud of this decision by the government. But instead of doing this we protesting against it. But Why?? The only answer is that there is no specific reason behind it. A large number of people, as well as students, are taking part in these rallies and protests actually without knowing about it. They are just forced to take part in these; basically not physically but mentally.
We should gather all possible knowledge about a topic and then should take action on it. George bernard shaw had once said
